When we become parents, we want to be the very best Mum or Dad that we can be, but may feel unsure of our ability. All parents and carers need extra help and advice now and then. There are so many websites around now that contain some very useful information for parents.
It would be impossible to provide a comprehensive list of helpful sites but what we want to do is to provide links we have found to sites that we feel are particularly good with practical and expert advice to help with demanding situations, giving you confidence to enjoy your life with your kids.
You can check out our ‘Useful Information’ tab at the top of the page for links to housing, benefits, bereavement and domestic violence.
We are also open to those of you who browse our site to contact us with other sites you have discovered for inclusion in these pages.
Feel free to us on e-mail and we will check out what you have found.
Being a parent is amazing, but we all need some help, advice and practical tips at times… and let’s be honest parenting during a pandemic has been particularly stressful!
Luckily the East Sussex Parenting Team is on hand to deliver tried, tested and internationally renowned parenting programmes to help you and your children get the support that you need.
We all have very busy lives and different needs, for this reason our service is not a “one size fits all” service but rather a selection of different programmes that you can choose from. You can access as much or as little as you like, and just small changes will make a big difference! The Parenting Team PUT YOU IN CONTROL so you can:
✓ Choose the strategies that fit your family
✓ Work at your own pace
✓ From the comfort of your own home!
We are currently using Microsoft Teams which is free to download and accessible from phones, tablets and laptops! Just simply choose the sessions you would like to access and email eh.0-19parentingteam@eastsussex.gov.uk with your choices. You will then be sent the link you need to join in with our FREE session.
Once you have joined the discussion you can choose to have your microphone and camera either on or off (whichever you are more comfortable with) , though we do encourage you to try some face to face with the other parents as the more you engage – the more you will get out of it! Parenting practitioners will be around for a few minutes before and after the session for questions and technical help if needed.
Alternatively, you can call 01424 725800 and we will be happy to talk you through it.
